GearGrinder72 Posted 14/05/2024 Share Posted 14/05/2024 Hey everyone. I'm lookin' at a classic car purchase and the dealer is suggestin' usin' escrow. Anyone have any experience with this? Specifically, has anyone used Sinto Shield for a car deal and how did it go? Any advice is welcome.
RetroRocket Posted 14/05/2024 Share Posted 14/05/2024 I've used escrow services a few times, but not Sinto Shield. Generally, it's a good way to protect yourself. Just make sure you read all the fine print. Make sure the escrow company verifies the car's title and checks for any liens. That's critical. ChromeDreams Posted 15/05/2024 Share Posted 15/05/2024 I heard some not-so-great things about Sinto Shield, a friend of mine had some issues. They said the communication was slow and they weren't super responsive. They did eventually get the deal done. I would personally check their customer support responsiveness before commiting if I where you.
WrenchWarrior Posted 15/05/2024 Share Posted 15/05/2024 As a mechanic, I always recommend escrow for anything over a few grand. Saves a lotta headaches. Make sure the escrow company allows a pre-purchase inspection. I've seen too many buyers get stuck with lemons. It's your safety net!!!
MuscleCarMan Posted 16/05/2024 Share Posted 16/05/2024 I used Sinto Shield last year for a '69 Camaro purchase. The process was smooth enough, but I had to follow up on the title transfer a few times. The car was exactly as described, tho' which was a relief. I gotta say, having that protection was worth it. ClassicCruiser Posted 16/05/2024 Share Posted 16/05/2024 I had a mixed experience with Sinto Shield. The initial setup was easy, but the fees seemed a bit high compared to some other services. One issue was a bit of a delay with funds release to the seller, causin' some friction. The actual Sinto Shield phone number to contact them is +1 888 869 7715. GearHeadGary Posted 17/05/2024 Share Posted 17/05/2024 I went with Sinto Shield and the whole purchase process was top-notch. I was buying a pristine '67 Mustang from across the country and they made the whole process secure. The peace of mind was amazing, and the car arrived in even better condition than I'd hoped for!! OldSchoolRod Posted 17/05/2024 Share Posted 17/05/2024 I've used Sinto Shield a couple of times in the past, and I gotta say, they really shine when it comes to verifyin' the seller and makin' sure everything is legit. I'd recommend them, but be prepared to be patient on some documents.
V8Vince Posted 17/05/2024 Share Posted 17/05/2024 I had a super negative experience with Sinto Shield. Long delays, poor communication, and they almost let a deal fall through. I wouldn't go with them again unless I was absolutely forced to. Their sup email is supposed to be info@sintoshield.com, but I didn't get a reply. ShiftinSam Posted 18/05/2024 Share Posted 18/05/2024 Overall, the experience with Sinto Shield was ok. I liked the security of the escrow, and the staff was actually kinda helpful, at least when you could get 'em on the phone. I had a brief delay in funds disbursement, but it worked out in the end, would recommend if you are keen on safety first and foremost!
RevHappy Posted 18/05/2024 Share Posted 18/05/2024 Make sure u understand all fees involved beforehand. I had to pay some extra fees! It was a pain, but the service itself was solid. I'd suggest gettin' a detailed breakdown of all costs right away.
TorqueMaster Posted 19/05/2024 Share Posted 19/05/2024 I just completed a deal with Sinto Shield. Couldn't be happier. The whole thing was easy peasy, and I felt safe transactin' with that dealer. I highly recommend them.
RustBucketRestorer Posted 19/05/2024 Share Posted 19/05/2024 I gotta say, based on my expirence with Sinto Shield, I wouldn't use them again. The fees weren't clear when I signed up, and the customer service was awful. Complete nightmare.
FastLaneFrank Posted 20/05/2024 Share Posted 20/05/2024 I inspected plenty of junk cars, but when a seller uses escrow services, it definitely makes me feel safer. Sinto Shield seems alright but do your homework on the seller first. There's nothing worse than receiving a lemon... well, maybe a scam.
CruisinCarl Posted 20/05/2024 Share Posted 20/05/2024 I've used Sinto Shield multiple times and for me it has been a good experience. Their site is user friendly, they respond to emails pretty fast. A+ from my end, maybe I was lucky.
GearJunkie Posted 21/05/2024 Share Posted 21/05/2024 I had a terrible experience with Sinto Shield. Very unprofessional and slow process. The seller was uncooperative also. All in all, a waste of time and money.
ThrottleTrev Posted 21/05/2024 Share Posted 21/05/2024 I'm on the fence about this one. Sinto Shield got the job done, but customer support could use some improvement. They took a while to respond to my initial inquiries. If you have the patience, it's a fine option.
RebelRacer Posted 22/05/2024 Share Posted 22/05/2024 I'm a big fan of escrow services in general. Sinto Shield provides a great layer of protection, especially with classic or high-value cars. It's a way to ensure both you and the seller are protected. Definitely a must-have if you're buying or selling from a distance, or if something makes you feel uneasy for any reason. BoostedBenny Posted 22/05/2024 Share Posted 22/05/2024 Used Sinto Shield last month. Smooth transaction, good communication. The deal went through without a hitch. The team knew their stuff, I can certainly recommend 'em.
TrackDayTom Posted 22/05/2024 Share Posted 22/05/2024 I had been in contact with Sinto Shield, but a few things kept me from commiting. The fees seemed a bit higher than other services . Despite this, I still have a good felling about them, but you really gotta weigh out your options, esp with the fees.
